St Mary's Loch

Local Area

Capperkirk sits in the tiny hamlet of Cappercleuch overlooking St Mary’s Loch in the Scottish Borders. It is nearly equidistant from Selkirk, Peebles and Moffat. Although accessible on the A708 it is away from the road and traffic is not heavy. There are occasional events at the local village hall and the annual Moffat car rally drives past the historic AA box which is staffed for the occasion. There are several walks from the house and although a car is necessary to reach Capperkirk you may not turn on the ignition all week – for groceries, Tesco can deliver your order.
